For someone who loves fantasy series so much, I sure do spend a lot of time imagining the characters in modern au’s.
My piece for the Avatar fanzine! It is a tribute to the very first episode, which as a young 11 year old, hooked me right in.
I feel like the original AtLA series was one of my biggest influences as a kid. It made me interested in learning how to draw humans, in story telling, and to this day it still inspires me in just how much a kids show is capable of.This is a lovely piece and post! It is such a warm and fuzzy feeling to witness this generation of artists that grew up on ATLA coming into their own, developing their talent and skills to such a mind-boggling level. I look forward to all of your creations taking the world by storm!
Bryan Konietzko: All the depictions of adult Aang in Korra thus far had been very serious, so I was looking for an opportunity to show the old fun-loving trickster we know and love. Ryu had done the original key anmation of young Aang in this pose so it was fitting that almost a decade later he drew the adult version too.
